Research Avenues.

Influences resulting in distortion of data in an interview situations will impact results for the research.
I am contemplating the best foot forward.  To conduct interviews one to one will depend on the interviewee and how comfortable they feel with this.  I am keen to explore a set line of questioning and repeat this and weigh up similarity or may feel compelled to be lead by my gut-feeling and alter questioning as I go along, recording as I go to listen back later.
How honest we all are when presented with a line of questioning may hinge on how we set up the interview environment and our approach.

How are you getting on? What are your thoughts on research methods or your preference?

    I'm still in the midst of reading Bell's book and exploring my topic so I won't be at planning out methods for another week or two. I'm not sure that interviews will fit with my project but we'll have to see!

Reflexive practise

Rarely have I worked for anyone else and I have always learned a great deal from my learners.  At times I wonder who is educating who! With your own school you are reliant on the children coming back each week.  You have to work hard all the time to sustain their interest and continually adapt to each requirement.   You can’t treat everyone the same and you have to work with your learners and provide them with stimuli on their terms.  The sophistication of our next generation insists on controlling their own interests and are self-determining. This results in continual self-reflection and reflexive thought as teachers. And so while living in a bubble can be detrimental, innovation comes free from constraints and is possible only when in autonomous environments. Any thoughts?

Question Are we products of how we are treated? Has our past, present and future been determined by that of others? If so, to what extent?
